In The Community

Philanthropy is deeply rooted in our Company. Through local and global giving, we strive to improve the quality of life for the world’s citizens every day.

All locations with 100 or more employees support Covidien’s Partnership for Neighborhood Wellness (CPNW), a platform for financial grants and healthcare product donations. Committed to advancing the availability of affordable, quality healthcare, CPNW initiatives include funding local programs that provide care and treatment for chronic illness and projects that address the health and well-being needs of the community.

CPNW is managed locally by Covidien Community Liaisons who recommend and facilitate charitable giving within their communities. They work to promote philanthropy among employees through local drives, volunteer activities and workplace giving campaigns.

Product donations have long been an integral part of our charitable giving. Each year, Covidien donates a broad range of products to nonprofit organizations. These products are distributed through AmeriCares, Direct Relief International and MedShare in response to disaster relief and in support of worldwide humanitarian efforts.

Individual efforts are not uncommon at Covidien. Andrew, an R&D Engineer at our Boulder, CO Energy Based Devices facility, recently biked 2,200 miles on behalf of a non-profit organization, the Colon Club, which is dedicated to raising awareness of colorectal cancer.
